Tiraspol, June 28 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In accordance with the World Athletics International Federation decision, during the period from 23 to 27 June, the Russian Athletics Championships was held in Cheboksary. There comes a time for the country leading sportsmen preparations for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where they will perform as status-neutral athletes.
In the javelin throwing competition, two trainees of the Tiraspol Dolgin sports school № 2 competed as part of the eleven declared medal contenders. Dmitry Tarabin together with Nikolay Orlov, who a week earlier became the winner of the Russian Youth Championships for athletes under 23 years old, the PMR State Service for Sports website reports.
Dmitry Tarabin became the national champion. Moreover, he did it very effectively: after entering the sector for a second attempt, he launched his javelin at the mark of 80 meters 81 centimeters. The other athletes used the entire arsenal of attempts, which they are entitled, but the Dmitry’s result wasn’t surpassed by them.
Boris Bezdolny with a score of 80 meters 70 centimeters came approximate to the leader. Nikolay Orlov showed the third final result: his spear landed on the 78 meters 91 centimeters mark, what brought the Tiraspol resident a bronze medal.
The international arena entering is still unavailable for Dmitry Tarabin, since he doesn’t even the status-neutral athlete. However, Nikolay Orlov has a chance to compete in official international competitions, including the European Youth Championships in Tallinn.
