Tiraspol, June 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian track athletes participated at the European Championship among small countries. Trainees from Bendery and Tiraspol schools won 6 medals of various denominations in San Marino. The best result was demonstrated by Yana Garayeva in the 400-meter hurdles. the girl from Bendery had a step on her opponents with this time 1 min, 02.32 s and took the gold of the competition.

“These competitions were very successful for me. At a distance of 400 meters with hurdles at the finish line, I literally snatched this victory from the sportsman from Cyprus. I was ahead of her by three hundredths of a second,” Yana Garayeva commented on her victory.

“The result of these competitions was a silver medal and a desire to go to the same starts again. Last time the European Championship among small countries was held in Liechtenstein, and I was only able to win 4th place. This time I purposefully came here to get a medal. I was in the lead up to the last attempt, but my opponent from Malta turned out to be a little stronger. There are still starts ahead, so I am determined to win,” Anastasia Senkiv said. 

Lilia Fiskovich from Tiraspol, who specializes in the classic marathon, ran a distance of 3000 m at the San Marino competition. The athlete finished in the 4th place. The most serious start is ahead of the Pridnestrovian runner - the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
