Tiraspol, June 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tiraspol resident Dmitry Lavrov won a ticket to the Summer Paralympics in Tokyo. The Pridnestrovian para-tennis player received the quota during the last qualifying international tournament in Slovenia. According to the athlete, he spent ten years to make his dream come true.
“Any tournament is difficult. But especially difficult are those competitions where you understand that you only need a victory, not second or third place. Only one person per class can go to the Paralympics. When I was training, preparing for these competitions, I made it my rule to come and win. So I did,” Dmitry Lavrov said after his triumphant performance.
Dmitry Lavrov won the gold medal of the competition and a ticket to Tokyo with it, literally. The champion was awarded the coveted ticket to the 2020 Paralympic Games.
The resident of Tiraspol is a member of the Russian Paralympic team.
