Tiraspol, May 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Resident of Tiraspol Gleb Beloborodov is a bronze medalist of the "Challengers" division of the MLBL-Moscow Championship. This is a basketball competition among Russian amateur teams. The Pridnestrovian athlete plays in the Sports School of the Olympic Reserve "Gloria" named after Y.I. Biryukov (division for the deaf).
“Our team consists of deaf and hard of hearing players. From childhood, I have hearing difficulties, which allows me to play for this team.
MLBL is an amateur basketball league. We play with ordinary healthy people, this is a unique case and a chance to prove ourselves, so to speak,” Gleb Beloborodov explained.
His team had an outstanding season and beat “DIT-P” with a score of 94:87 in the game for third place. A place in the top three leaders of the "Challengers" division gives “Gloria” team a chance to enter the strongest amateur championship in Moscow. The “Elite” division is the next target of the Pridnestrovian athlete.
“I play as a small forward, that is, cornerman. I am very pleased with our common team success. Also, our basketball club is the champion of Russia among the deaf and hearing impaired and performs as the basic national team of Russia,” the basketball player from Tiraspol says.
