Tiraspol, April 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During a working visit to Moscow, the Pridnestrovian side informed Russian colleagues about the existing problems in terms of the limited work of the offsite consular office of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova in Tiraspol.

Recall that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the consular office only accepts applications for the replacement of foreign passports and for registration of Russian citizenship for children under 14 years old.

“We systematically inform the Russian Federation about the problems - these are tens of thousands of citizens who cannot now extend their foreign documents. This requires rapid intervention. We were assured by our Russian colleagues, the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry that they are now looking for mechanisms and opportunities to return to the normal, smooth work mode of the consular office,” PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said in an interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.

“A significant number of requests have accumulated, there is a queue. The longer it does not work, the more problems certain people will have. Of course, this situation must be resolved promptly. I hope that in the near future our people will see concrete results,” the PMR Foreign Minister added.
