Rower from PMR Andrey Laskorunsky takes part in the all-Russian competitions

Tiraspol, April 3. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. All-Russian competitions in rowing and canoeing among juniors started today in Krasnodar (Russia). The winners will be determined in single kayaks and canoes at distances of 200, 500 and 1000 meters.

Among the participants of the competition is the Pridnestrovian rower Andrey Laskorunsky, Radio 1 reports. Last year, the trainee of the Tiraspol rowing school won two gold medals at the Russian junior championship and two top awards at the Moscow Cup among men.

The regatta will end on April 6. Based on its results, athletes will be selected for centralized training for the spring. The team will include rowers who have become winners in the sprint and prize-winners at other distances.

The world championship among juniors and athletes under 23 years old was postponed from June to September 3-6 due to the pandemic. The competition will be hosted by the Portuguese city of Montemor-o-Velho.
