Members of the Operational Headquarters under the President for prevention of the spread of coronavirus stated that the epidemiological situation in the republic is still persistently unfavorable. The average daily registration is 375 cases. The infectious hospital network is constantly expanding, but its capabilities are not as great as the growing need. 96% of the capacity is occupied. Repair and construction work is underway at the Center for Mother and Child in Bendery almost around the clock, which is necessary for the placement of infectious diseases hospital. It will be able to provide inpatient treatment for 320 infected patients with maximum workload. The re-profiling of a medical facility is temporary - for the period of exacerbation of the epidemiological situation. The center's profile patients should be treated by the Center for Medical and Rehabilitation of Tiraspol. The mechanism has not yet been debugged, the President noted. He reported on the appeals he received in this regard, instructing to urgently establish cooperation. The President spoke about other issues raised by citizens. There are many complaints about the lack of proper contact between the doctor and the patient, as well as the delay in starting treatment in COVID hospitals. Vadim Krasnoselsky directed the chief doctors and heads of departments to the fact that their working day should begin and end with a round of wards and a direct dialogue with patients. Taking into account the number of appeals, official checks will be carried out on the indicated facts.
The President asked about the provision of anti-coronavirus medicines and personal protective equipment. According to the Head of the relevant department Christina Albul, the medicine Remdesivir (5000 bottles), which was delivered to the Ministry of Health on Monday, has been distributed to medical institutions. The following deliveries are expected. One of them is today already. Vadim Krasnoselsky once again reminded about the requirement to replenish stocks of drugs in advance, avoiding a shortage of vital drugs, as happened the other day with Remdesivir. Regarding other medicines: there are at the warehouses of the Ministry of Health 1200 tablets of Favipiravir, Arbidol - based on the treatment of eight hundred children and thousands of adults infected with COVID-19, Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine - each drug in an amount sufficient for providing care to 17 thousand patients. There is a reserve of Heparin, Innoxofarin, Dexamethasone, Prednisolone, Levofloxacin, the Minister said. 3564 units of rapid tests for the detection of antibodies are available, antigen tests - 63811.
The measures taken to ensure the uninterrupted supply of oxygen to medical institutions were discussed in the course of the meeting. 1720 cylinders were delivered to the republican clinical hospital by the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the past three days, and 350 cylinders were delivered to the Slobodzeya hospital, Ruslan Mova said. The possibility of filling them is being sought not only in Rybnitsa. As one of the options, the station, which was suspended eight years ago, located in Slobodzeya, is being considered. The equipment was revised. Commissioning works are in progress. The technical launch and warm-up of the station is scheduled for today, which will take two days. It will be possible if the facility is returned to service to fill up to three hundred cylinders a day with medical oxygen at the Slobodzeya station.
The issue of vaccination of Pridnestrovians was also discussed at the meeting of the Operational Headquarters. No one has any doubts that this effective tool for immunizing the population should be fully used in the fight against coronavirus. There are difficulties with the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Pridnestrovie – Moldovan officials block, Vadim Krasnoselsky stated. As for "AstraZeneca": the chief sanitary doctor of Pridnestrovie considers it expedient to start a vaccination campaign with this medicine. Her opinion is based on the findings of the WHO profile specialists released on March 19. Natalia Beril recalled that this vaccine has passed the registration procedure and can be used in Pridnestrovie. There are 2410 doses in warehouses. Delivery of another 1500 units of AstraZeneca is expected In the near future, as well as a batch of Pfizer vaccine - 942 units. It will arrive from Chisinau through WHO.
The President recalled that citizens will be vaccinated exclusively at their request. The President emphasized that the necessary preliminary work should be carried out with everyone who wants to be vaccinated: all contraindications should be taken into account, it may be necessary to conduct PCR testing of citizens who want to be vaccinated against coronavirus.
Another topic of the meeting is the organization of the educational process at the end of the vacation period. Tomorrow the President will hold a meeting devoted to this issue. Statistical data confirm the correctness of the earlier decision to extend the holidays: the incidence among school-age children has been reduced by 35%. The decision on the training format to be applied in the future must be made before the end of the current week.
