Tiraspol, December 10. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The heads of departments and other executive bodies of the state power supported the extension of the list of citizens, who are sent abroad for treatment, assessment and consultation in the Government. This is in reference to medical care, which is not available in our republic, the Government press service reports.
The updated list will include Pridnestrovians, who have need of using the method of in vitro fertilization (IVF). This technology doesn’t apply in Pridnestrovie.
It should be reminded, that on behalf of the Prime Minister, representatives of the Ministry of Health, banks and the Pridnestrovian People’s Forum have developed a program for providing financial support to couples for covering the costs of IVF. It’s based on the experience of foreign countries. For instance, those who don’t have children due to their health conditions are helped to completely or partly cover all costs of this expensive service abroad.
The Government also proposes to take up the lead, consolidating the budget and banks abilities. According to the program, for the first IVF attempt, 50% of the required amount will be devoted to the family from the state treasury, the remaining half in the form of a loan will be given by the bank. The state will pay all interest on it. For the repeated attempt, money will be given only by the bank, and two thirds of the interest rate on the loan will be paid by the state.
The program will start from January 2021.
“There are families, that have serious problems with a child’s delivery. I personally had to deal with such families. For some families, it’s a big trouble when there is a desire to have a child, but it couldn’t be done for specific medical causes. The situation is exacerbated by the fact, that there is a chance, but many families have a lack of money for IVF. We analyzed the number of countries experience and prepared a mechanism, that will be applied in the PMR. It’s socially oriented and will be able to provide assistance to families, who are in such difficult situation, according to the opinion of the Ministry of Health,” Alexander Martynov noted.
