Tiraspol, December 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Ukrainian Style Karate Cup was held in Odessa. The competition brought together over 200 athletes. Representatives of the Tiraspol Federation of Shotokan Karate-Do (Shotokan is one of the four traditional styles of Japanese karate-do) were invited to the tournament.
A delegation led by Vladimir Moiseev went to the competition in Ukraine. The team included judges Lyudmila Burlachuk and Alexander Kukul.
The main result for the Pridnestrovian club was brought by the leading karate fighter Vladimir Gibeskul. Our cadet won gold in the individual kumite category.
“We are glad, that we managed to participate in such a worthy tournament and bring a gold medal and a winning cup. This victory is important for our entire team because it motivates the rest of the karate fighters to move on, train and make way toward the awards stand,” said the coach and judge in karate Lyudmila Burlachuk.
The karate fighters from Tiraspol have big plans for next year. According to the calendar, an international competition will be held in Budapest in February. Young people are preparing for the European tatami. The European Championship is planning to be held in May in Gothenburg (Sweden). It all depends on how the situation with the coronavirus will develop.
