Tiraspol, November 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The single voting day in Pridnestrovie was held in accordance with national legislation and generally accepted international principles and rules for organizing and holding democratic elections.
The conclusions were provided by the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Andrey Kuzmin, Artyom Turov, Sergey Chizhov and Andrey Klimentov, as well as a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Sergey Muratov. The Russian guests went round the polling places in Tiraspol, Slobodzeya, Grigoriopol and Dubossary district.
“They gave exceptionally positive attitudes and concluded, that the elections on November 29, 2020 were in accordance with national legislation, generally accepted international principles and rules for organizing and holding democratic elections. The principles of free expression of the voters’ will were observed, free access to information about the candidates was provided, and voters participated in the voting directly, personally, in properly equipped voting premises, excluding control over the expression of their will,” the head of the PMR Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Elena Gorodetskaya stressed.
It was also noted, that the elections on the single voting day were held in conditions of increased security measures.
Another report was provided by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and cooperation with compatriots Umakhan Umakhanov, who visited the polling place in Bendery.
“In his report, he concludes, that during the observation of the election process, no problems were identified, that could affect the expression of the voters’ will. That allows to recognize the elections as free and democratic, to be held in accordance with international electoral standards,” the head of the PMR CEC said.
In conclusion, Elena Gorodetskaya said, that Pridnestrovie treats the conclusions of the Russian guests with great respect and gratitude.
“We are glad to any conclusions, especially when they are positive, this is a huge motivation for us not to stop working on improving the legislation and in every way to maintain the openness of the electoral process, so that our voters strengthen their confidence in the electoral procedures,” Elena Gorodetskaya resumed.
