The Deputy of the Russian Federation State Duma called the talks about Russian peacekeepers` withdrawal from the PMR ill-advised and thoughtless

Sergey Chizhov emphasized that it was the Russian servicemen who are guarantors of peace on the Pridnestrovian land

Tiraspol, November 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Russian peacekeepers are reliable guarantors of peace in Pridnestrovie, that is why statements about their withdrawal are ill-advised and thoughtless. This opinion was expressed by the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Chizhov.

“Talking about the peacekeepers having to leave Pridnestrovie, in my opinion, is simply ill-advised and thoughtless. Because it is the peacekeepers who guarantee that multinational peoples with probably different views on the same things will be guaranteed to live in peace. Not a drop of blood will be shed, not a single tear will fall,” Sergey Chizhov stressed in an interview with the Supreme Soviet press service.

Let us recall that the peacekeeping operation under the auspices of the Russian Federation has been implemented in Pridnestrovie since 1992 on the basis of interstate agreements.

The President-elect of the Republic of Moldova, Maya Sandu, has repeatedly stated the need to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from the PMR.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that such statements are aimed at undermining efforts to peacefully resolve the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict.

Earlier, the words of the Moldovan leader were commented on by the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Artem Turov. In his opinion, before talking about the termination of the mission of Russian peacekeepers in Pridnestrovie, it is necessary to resolve the crisis in relations between the two banks of the Dniester.
