Tiraspol, November 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The 10th WAKO European Kickboxing Cup among adults in the K-1 section was held from 18 to 22 November in Leskovak (Serbia). At this prestigious sports forum, two Pridnestrovian athletes performed excellently: Honored Master of Sports Maxim Kazaku and Master of Sports Victor Nechitailo. Both kickboxers are pupils of the honored trainer Ivan Derkachenko.
WAKO 2019 world champion among adults Maxim Kazaku became the tournament favorite and won the European Cup for the third time. Kickboxer fought in the weight category up to 57 kg, dominated in all the fights, showing excellent technical and tactical training.
After winning the 2019 World Cup in Sarajevo in October last year, Maxim Kazaku received a surgery of tonsillectomy with complications, which made him recover for a long time. But thanks to his intellectual kickboxing and moral and volitional powers, he didn’t give a split second to doubt his advantage.
The winner of the 2018 WAKO European Kickboxing Championship among juniors Viktor Nechitailo made his debut in Serbia in the senior age group. In excellent academic style, the kickboxer reached the final.
In the hardest fight for the European Cup in the weight category up to 60 kg, Viktor Nechitailo defeated multiple Serbian champion, winner of the 2018 European Championship and 2019 World Cup Daniel Mamedovski.
Following the results of the European Cup, the Pridnestrovian team was awarded a special cup “The best club in the K-1 section of the European Kickboxing Cup WAKO.”
After the Cup, Tiraspol residents will take part in a training camp with the Serbian national team in the city of Niš. Then our kickboxers will go to Prague, where they will compete for the title of the best in the WAKO World Grand Prix in the K-1 section.
