Tiraspol, November 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The State Customs Committee (SCC) announces a change in the procedure for exemption from vignette payment from January 1, 2021. According to the Decree of the PMR Government “On the approval for 2021 of the customs tariff for goods imported into the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”, one of the conditions for exemption from vignette payment is documentary confirmation of the fact of temporary registration of a citizen on the territory of the PMR for a period of less than 183 days, on the website of the SCC reported.
From January 1, 2021, a vignette payment for vehicles registered (permanently registered) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and imported by citizens of the CIS member states is subject to assessed contribution in case of documentary confirmation of the fact of temporary registration at place of residence in the territory of Pridnestrovie for a period of 183 days and more. This period is confirmed by a document issued by the authorized body in the field of migration registration and control of citizens arriving on the territory of the PMR.
It should be noted that the owners of vehicles imported before the end of 2020 with exemption from vignette payment and located on the territory of the PMR will need to satisfy a vignette payment from January 1 of the next year, provided that they stay in Pridnestrovie for 183 days or more.
The State Customs Committee also reminds of the list of documents required for the customs declaration of vehicles registered in a foreign state and temporarily imported by individuals into the customs territory of the republic exceptionally for personal use.
Car owners should give an external or internal passport or other document of identification that confirms nationality and registration. As well as a technical passport of a vehicle, a document confirming residence or temporary stay in the PMR, and a driver’s license.
