After a pause due to the pandemic, the wrestling world opened up. Assembly place is in Edinet. After that, there will be the Championship of Moldova. There are not only medals and champion titles at the arena, but also the most important selection. Sabina Artemchuk won a ticket to the World Championship along with the gold of the championship. In the weight category 60 kg, athlete from Bendery decisively fought three bouts. She clinched the win in all of them.
Now our sambo athlete is preparing to enter the international arena. The World SAMBO Championships 2020 will start on November 4 in Serbia.
“I have repeatedly participated in such competitions. I was a bronze medalist three times. This year I am already determined to make it to the final. I would like to bring the gold of the World Championship to my home school,” Sabina Artemchuk says.
Now our athlete is preparing for the new training camp together with the team. There will be 10 training days in Bukovel, and then a course on the world pedestal! Valery Muravsky and Dan Burlak are also heading there. They will fight among adults. Two more Bendery residents, who won the championship of Moldova, will compete in the youth category - Maxim Grebinenko and Oleg Mostovoy.
“There was a big break due to the coronavirus. A lot has changed in the world SAMBO. Now all wrestlers are on a level playing field. Those who had been training, stayed fit. We had been working all summer, so we are counting on the World Championship medals,” the Chief of Competition of the Moldavian Championship, the coach of the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve for Wrestling named after G. N. Badanova, Sergey Shakhov said.
Despite the quarantine, sambo athletes have a busy autumn. After the World Championship there will be adult European Championship. It will take place in Ekaterinburg. The leaders of Bendery SAMBO will compete in Russia: Sabina Artemchuk, Valery Muravsky and Dan Burlak.
