Konstantin Zatulin: Pridnestrovians demonstrate the will to maintain an inextricable link between PMR and Russian Federation

The Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation thanked the state authorities and public organizations of the republic for carrying out explanatory work on amending the Constitution of Russia

Tiraspol, July 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Central Election Commission of the PMR received a letter of gratitude from Konstantin Zatulin, the Special Representative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Migration and Citizenship, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.

He expressed deep appreciation and warmly thanked the Central Election Commission of Pridnestrovie, other state authorities and public organizations of the republic for carrying out a huge explanatory work on the significance of the proposed amendments in the all-Russian vote on the issue of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

“The approved Constitution has once again demonstrated Russia's intention to provide comprehensive support to compatriots living abroad, to create conditions for supporting the Russian language, strengthening the Russian area here. First of all, this refers to Pridnestrovians, who, despite the most difficult living conditions, opposition from external forces, despite the absence of common borders between Russia and Pridnestrovie, demonstrate the will to maintain an inextricable link between Pridnestrovie and Russia, the Russian civilization space," he said in an address to parliamentarians.

Konstantin Zatulin shared Pridnestrovians` concern about the opening of only two polling stations.

“The issue of expanding the number of polling stations in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in future election campaigns certainly needs to be addressed. We will raise it with the Central Election Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and propose it for consideration during the hearings in the Committee on Pridnestrovie, postponed due to the pandemic,” Konstantin Zatulin, Special Representative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Migration and Citizenship said.
