Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the World War II veteran Vladimir Gromov

The World War II veteran, front-line machine gunner, paratrooper, retired sergeant, participant in the Moscow parade on the 73rd anniversary of the Great Victory, and all military parades held in the Pridnestrovian capital, Vladimir Gromov on the eve celebrated his 94th birthday. Today, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the birthday person. The veteran was visited by the President.

The interlocutors recalled previous meetings, talked about the past and plans for the future. The theme of celebrating the anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War this year did not go unnoticed. They talked about the feat of the Soviet Soldier and the memory of him, which is carefully kept in Pridnestrovie.

For reference: Vladimir Gromov was born in Staraya Russa, Novgorod Region in 1926. In 1943 (at the age of 17) he was drafted into the army and sent to the military school of Vyksa. Two months later, he entered the machine gun company of the eighth Panfilov Division of the Tenth Guards Army of the General M.I. Kazakov, on the Second Baltic Front. From 1946 to 1950 he served in Pskov in the paratrooper division. He moved to Tiraspol after demobilization in 1950, where before retiring he worked in the sewing factory named after 40th anniversary of the Komsomol. The Great Patriotic War veteran was awarded the Order of Glory of the III degree, the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree, the medal "For the victory over Germany" and others.
