It should be recalled, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ukraine closed all its checkpoints on the border with Pridnestrovie on March 16. Import of goods, including vital medicines, to the PMR could only be made through open chekpoint on the Moldo-Ukrainian border. Chisinau began to delay or completely block the import of cargo into Pridnestrovie. There were created obstacles for the entering and leaving of citizens and vehicles for humanitarian purposes: the return of citizens, purchase of medicines and medical equipment, reagents for carrying out laboratory tests on the COVID-19.
On May 28, the Cabinet of Ukraine decided to resume the work of the border crossing points on the border with Pridnestrovie, including in Kuchurgan.
On 29 May, the checkpoints were opened, but they had worked only a day. After Moldova's appeal, Ukraine again had closed all the border crossing points on the border with Pridnestrovie. Vehicles carrying medical supplies for Pridnestrovian pharmaceutical companies were blocked at the checkpoints in the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR appealed to the international participants of the 5 + 2 negotiation format to assist in eliminating the disruptions created by Moldova in the supply of medical products to Pridnestrovie. The Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that Moldova has returned to destructive inhuman methods of blocking the import of medicines to Pridnestrovie especially necessary during the fight against. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR applied the whole range of diplomatic instruments to solve the problem.
