The President held meeting on the certification of schoolchildren and organization of entrance examinations for applicants

The Head of presidential administration Sergey Belous, Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Martynov, Minister of Education Alla Nikolyuk and Rector of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko Stepan Beryl were invited to a meeting initiated by the President. The working discussion was held in video conference format. The main theme is certification of schoolchildren and organization of entrance tests for applicants. Opening the meeting, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it is necessary to develop a mechanism that will allow Pridnestrovian youth to continue full-fledged education - both in schools and in universities and secondary specialized educational institutions of the republic and other states in the context of the pandemic and related restrictions. The President said that the Ministry of Industry should be ready for any development. The decision depends on the epidemiological situation, therefore, the chief sanitation physician of the republic must be involved in the discussion of the issue, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized. The system of final certification, the form of passing final and entrance exams, the dates of their implementation are included to the agenda.

The Chairman of the Government informed the President about working meeting held on April 23, which was attended by representatives of the PMR Ministry of Education, state university, as well as public education departments of cities and regions of the republic. It was agreed that the final grades for the 2019-2020 academic year to students (except graduates) will be put in all subjects based on the results of current academic performance - without holding traditional exams. The current law "On Education", in particular, article 13, allows changing the form of final certification for grades 9 and 11, said the Minister of Education Alla Nikolyuk. It is proposed to make corrections to departmental legal acts, according to which they will conduct final certification for ninth-graders this year in two compulsory subjects - mother tongue and mathematics (usually exams are taken in two compulsory subjects and two - at the student's choice). They will not conduct exams, as such in practice: the final grades will be set on the basis of annual. The certificate, therefore, will comply with all standards. A different mechanism has been proposed for 11th graders: annual grades on compulsory subjects, which will automatically be considered the results of the state final certification, will be defined as the arithmetic mean of annual grades for grades 10 and 11. Graduates will receive a certificate of education without written examination of the exam, and it will not differ from previously issued certificates.

556 Pridnestrovian schoolchildren have submitted applications for passing the Russian exam. Considering that in the Russian Federation a decision to conduct a unified state examination has not yet been taken, in Pridnestrovie this issue also remains open. The State University is ready to organize and conduct the Unified State Examination and will respond promptly, focusing on the decision of Russian colleagues, Rector of PSU Stepan Beril noted during the meeting.

They paid attention today to the upcoming graduates in secondary and higher educational institutions. Various options were discussed. It was noted that some of the applicants - medalists (more are expected this year than in the previous ones) and winners of various olympiads - automatically students of PSU become. The issue of extending the introductory campaign until August 31 is being considered. So far, these are only developments. The final decision must be made before May 7th. The President emphasized that in conditions of the spread of the virus, the fundamental aspect is the safety of children. At the same time, it is important to ensure legal grounds and provide young people with the opportunity to exercise the right to education, summed up Vadim Krasnoselsky.
