Tiraspol, March 13./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Since March 13, all sports events are cancelled in Pridnestrovie. Since March 14, all sports facilities of the Sheriff Sports Center are suspended indefinitely. From March 16 sports schools of the republic, as well as city pools stop working. The relevant order was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the PMR Alexander Martynov.
These measures are taken to prevent the threat of coronavirus infection caused by a new type of virus (2019- nCoV).
Deputy Head of the Civil Service for Sports Nelly Telyatinsky noted that about 80 events of the republican and city level planned for March have been cancelled.
The Final of the Youth Basketball Championship of Moldova planned from March 16 to March 20 in Tiraspol is cancelled as well as the Open Championship and Superiority in checkers-64 on March 24 and the academic rowing regatta «Spring oars» from March 27 to March 28.
Nelly Telyatinsky stressed that the events will not be cancelled completely, but only postponed indefinitely.
Recall, that the quarantine will last until a special order.
