Tiraspol, February 7./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie commented on the remarks of the President of Moldova. Today, Igor Dodon stated that Pridnestrovie had no future without Moldova. He also boasted about breakthrough decisions in negotiations and offered some ''broad autonomy''.
''The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic drew attention to the comments of the President of Moldova Igor Dodon on the Moldo-Pridnestrovian dialogue. Its content contradicts the real situation in the negotiation process, as it is characterized by the degradation of the atmosphere and the inability of the Moldovan side to fulfil its previous obligations.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR considers necessity to make a number of clarifications.
As it is known, the often mentioned bilateral agreements of 2017-2018, supported by the international partners and aimed at resolving long-standing problems, were not signed by Igor Dodon or his authorized representatives. Perhaps, for this reason, their implementation has already been blocked by the Moldovan side for six months.
The comments of the President of the Republic of Moldova on telecommunications and communications distort the reality, as the new Moldovan authorities refused to fulfil previously agreed obligations. President Dodon promises to solve problems in banking and other areas for many times. But there are no actions.
Perhaps Moldova's progressive loss of international authority and former confidence in its positions is the reason for another wave of distorting statements of the President Dodon.
Moldova has disrupted the signing of the final protocol of the Bratislava session of the Permanent Meeting in the 5 + 2 format (October 9-10, 2019). Moldova also ignored the implementation of the package of earlier пак agreements and refused to sign new agreements officially initialed by the heads of expert (working) groups of the parties. Because of this actions Moldova critically loses the trust and support of the international participants of the negotiation process.
Everyone knows the consensus of the world actors involved in the settlement. The essence is that there is no alternative to negotiations between Moldova and Pridnestrovie and there is no other way than to fulfil earlier commitments. As soon as long-standing problems are resolved, progress in the settlement will be possible.
Official Chisinau deliberately puts the settlement process into an endless impasse by inventing non-viable ''settlement'' options that have nothing to do with reality, and at the same time blocking existing mechanisms for finding compromise solutions.
With each new populist statement of the Moldovan authorities against the background of the same provoking stagnation of the dialogue, the inconsistency and unconvincing position of Moldova becomes apparent to an increasing number of international actors.
