Tiraspol, January 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev expressed concern over the negotiation process degradation at a meeting with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting.
“We drew attention to the application of unilateral restrictions and means of pressure in relation to Pridnestrovie. There are problems related to the banking sector, the freedom of movement of vehicles, and now even to our citizens` kidnapping,” Vitaly Ignatiev told reporters.
Regarding attempts to include new and initially unresolved issues in the Chisinau negotiation agenda, such as harmonization of the tax laws of Moldova and Pridnestrovie, Vitaly Ignatiev noted:
“The Moldovan side can offer any ideas and initiatives. But first of all, it is necessary to fulfill the previously reached agreements. I repeat that neither in the field of telecommunications, nor in banking, nor in the closure of criminal cases are we observing any dynamics. On the contrary, there is a regression. The Moldovan side is trying to imitate activity, but actually distracts from pressing issues, from fulfilling its obligations, switching attention to some new topics. Together, we will try to prevent a complete break in the 5 + 2 format.”
Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized that Pridnestrovie was ready to work constructively and to move forward.
“For our part, we have fulfilled all obligations. A lot of promises is made by Chisinau, yet there is no result,” the PMR Foreign Minister emphasized.
According to him, Pridnestrovie hopes that the Albanian chairmanship in the OSCE and the Special Representative of the Chairman-in-Office will make efforts to ensure that the negotiation process is conducted within the framework of the established agenda.
The Organization of Security and Collaboration in Europe, along with Russia and Ukraine, is a mediator in the negotiations on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement. From January 1, 2020, the chairmanship of the OSCE passed to Albania.
