Tiraspol, January 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Evdokia Filippovna Danilevskaya turned 96 years old. On this significant date she was congratulated by representatives of the Dniester-Prutian Information and Analytical Center, the Victory Volunteers public movement the, Council of War Veterans and Armed Forces, the Zvezda youth movement.
“We remind that Evdokia Filippovna Danilevskaya is the only participant of the Battle of Stalingrad in Tiraspol. During the years of the war, she got many awards, among them the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree, the Medal for Victory over Germany, the Medal for Defense of Stalingrad.
She got to the front not immediately, but only a year later after the beginning of the war.
“The military officials refused to take me because of age. I was 16 years old in 1941. However, thanks to perseverance and desire to defend the Motherland I got to the airfield services battalion. There I participated in the construction of false airfields, disoriented the enemy,” the veteran recalls.
There on the front Evdokia Filippovna met her love. She served in Bucharest, where the flight unit was based. On one day, a medical worker asked her to give blood for a wounded airman. She did it.
The next day, the young woman made training parachute jumps. Therefore, it happened that during the jump the parachute did not open. She was saved from death by trees she narrowly landed on, suffering a spinal fracture.
When the girl woke up, she was visited by the same airman for whom she donated her blood.
“He looked at me and said: “You will be my wife”! All of my body was in a cast! I asked if he needed such a wife. In addition, he replied: “You saved me – now I will save you”. This young man was Georgy Danilevsky, my future spouse,” the veteran recalls.
When Evdokia Danilevskaya recovered, young people got married. It happened in the Embassy of the USSR in Bucharest. It should be emphasized that both Evdokia and Georgy were born on the same day, January 21.
The victory Evdokia Danilevskaya met in Brail (Romania). After that, moved to Tiraspol. Here she began teaching at Tiraspol School No.7.
In the House of Teachers she conducted sewing courses, artistic embroidery, created a museum. In total, Evdokia Filippovna has more than 40 years of teaching experience.
The representative of the Volunteers of Victory public movement Darya Tipa told about the importance of veterans congratulations.
“Evdokia Filippovna is one of those many people who defended our Motherland during the Great Patriotic War. Now our task is to surround them with warmth and attention,” the activist said
In her 96 years, she continues to lead an active lifestyle, participating in round tables and holding meetings with schoolchildren.
