Spokesperson for the PMR President: “Moldova’s attempt to make decisions for another state – that`s something new”

Denis Podgorny commented on the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Ion Kiku, on Ukraine’s plans to introduce restrictive measures on Pridnestrovian vehicles from April 1

Tiraspol, January 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In recent times, some Moldovan diplomats` behavior raises questions, to put it mildly. Pridnestrovie is "used to" Moldova violating or not fulfilling previous agreements, but Moldova’s attempt to make decisions for another state - that`s new. The press secretary of the PMR President Denis Podgorny wrote about this on his Facebook page, commenting on the statement of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Ion Kiku, on Ukraine’s plans to introduce restrictive measures on Pridnestrovian vehicles from April 1.

“First, the Moldovan side tried to forbid motorists with Pridnestrovian driving licenses and with our license plates to cross the border with Ukraine. In response, Pridnestrovie has taken measures. Then the official Chisinau retreated: they said that everything was fine, and they suspended restrictive actions. It should be noted that they do not cancel them, but only suspend. At the same time, the Prime Minister of Moldova, Ion Kiku, reports that from April 1, Ukraine will close the border for vehicles with the Pridnestrovian license plates. Although, there is no any information about this in Ukraine,” Denis Podgorny said.

It should be recalled that the previous day, the official representative of the Ukrainian Embassy in Moldova, Alla Otverchenko told the media that at the level of the Ukrainian Government there has been no official decision in that regard. “At the official level, we did not inform the Moldovan side,” Alla Otverchenko explained.

According to the press secretary of the President of the PMR, the inhabitants of the two countries are held hostage due to political games.

“Today, the President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev. They discussed what was happening and the tools that Pridnestrovie would resort to if the official Chisinau continued such a line of behavior. And in response to the suspension of the ban: Pridnestrovie`s response measures against Moldova have not been canceled either, but have only been suspended,” Denis Podgorny wrote on his page on the social network.
