The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has published a table - a ranking of the best football clubs of the “Old World” in the Champions League. Over the 64-year history of the tournament, there were 520 football clubs that took part in it. Sheriff from Tiraspol was in the top 100 of the best teams, settling in 68th place of the rating.
For calculation in UEFA they took all the matches of each club within the Champions League and counted points (2 points for a victory, 1 for a draw) and goals. Penalty shoot-out wins were counted as draws.
Sheriff from Tiraspol participated in the most prestigious tournament in Europe17 times. The football club spent 68 matches in which it gained 22 victories, tied 14 times and lost 32 matches. The goal difference is 66-74 and 58 points.
The same number of points were gained by football clubs Bordeaux France and Napoli Italy; they took 67th and 66th places. Real Madrid, the 13-time winner of the League, which gained 262 victories in this tournament, is in the lead of the summary table.
