Dubossary, December 19./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. New equipment – hydraulic turbine speed regulators will be installed at the Dubossary Hydroelectric Power Plant in the near future. For this purpose, specialists from St. Petersburg will arrive. Speed regulators had never been changed before and were installed along with turbines in 1954-1955, according to Boris Herman, director of the hydroelectric power plant.
“They were Swedish-made. They were used for quite a long time. Now they are obsolete and no longer guarantee regulation of hydro turbines, as they are mechanical and have depleted their resources. We will install new modern electrohydraulic regulators, which will be more reliable, more economical and tied into a single hydraulic units regulation, and also all-plant regulation system,” the head of Dubossary HPP noted.
New speed regulators will be installed on all four machines of the station. These works are planned to be completed before the flood. Modern units were purchased by the company at the expense of the Road Fund return the money. This year this funds amounted to 7 million rubles.
“In the last two years, much work has been done on the reconstruction of the station. The HPP staff, as well as specialists from other scientific institutions and industrial enterprises of neighboring countries, repaired the flexible rice of the drain dam, 4 hydraulic units with the replacement of stator windings, modernized the drainage channel of the left bank earth dam. An additional electromechanical workshop was built on the territory of the station for the convenience of works,” Boris Herman said.
Dubossary Hydroelectric Power Plant was built from 1950 to 1955. This December there are 65 years since the launch of the first stage of the Hydroelectric Power Plant. During this time, the station generated nearly 18 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
“All these years hydroelectric power station in faith and truth served the people of our region. The staff of Dubossary HPP, observing traditions, stood on the guard of energy security of our republic. Employees of the hydroelectric power plant have done a lot of work on the implementation of production and investment programs, thanks to which the station works reliably and stably,” Boris Herman, Director of the Dubossary HPP said.
