Tiraspol, December 18. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. It is planned to open a multifunctional sports center for disabled people in Tiraspol next year. It will be located in the house № 1/3 on Lenin Street.
Last year, on behalf of the President, this building was handed over to the Disabled People Republican Sports Rehabilitation Center. Now there are repair works under the program of the Capital Investments Fund.
According to the project, the sports complex will house a gym, a hall for checkers and chess, a sports hall for tennis, as well as a library and a recording studio.
Today, at the meeting of the Supreme Council, the deputies considered the presidential initiative providing the inclusion of additional positions of specialists to the Disabled People Republican Sports Rehabilitation Center. New staff units are necessary to ensure the effective operation of the center, the parliamentary press service reports.
“Rehabilitation Center for Disabled People was opened in 2004. However, it is located in a semi-indoor room and does not allow at the proper level to prepare Paralympic athletes. During the work of the center, several prize-winners of Paralympic Games were trained. Our Paralympic athletes repeatedly participated in the World Cups. At this moment, in this center 2 thousand people from all over the republic are engaged,” First Deputy Minister for Social Protection and Labor Oleg Fedotov noted.
The bill was supported by the Parliament in the first reading.
