Tiraspol, December 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The meeting of political representatives of Moldova and Pridnestrovie may take place on December 23, Head of the PMR's MFA, Vitaly Ignatiev said it during a press briefing.
The day before at the OSCE Mission to Chisinau Vitaly Ignatiev met with his counterpart Alexandru Flenchea. The negotiations lasted six hours. During the meeting, the sides discussed various problematic issues on the negotiating agenda. Among them, there are telecommunications, banking problem, issues of motor vehicles and driving permits of the PMR, the problem of politically motivated criminal cases.
“I will not say that I am satisfied with the received answers, but the processes are going on, and I think that in the near future we will organize another meeting of political representatives in Tiraspol. Preliminary, perhaps, it will be next Monday,” Ignatiev said.
On the possible meeting at the level of the Permanent Meeting in the 5 + 2 format (PMR and RM – parties; Russian Federation, OSCE, Ukraine – mediators; USA and EU – observers) until the end of the year, Ignatiev spoke with cautious optimism.
“We will be looking for opportunities to realize at least one in a hundred chances. There should be a certain compromise,” the Head of the PMR's MFA said.
It should be reminded: in October negotiations at the level of the Permanent Meeting in the 5 + 2 format were put on pause. Then the Moldovan side refused to sign the final protocol. At the same time, the international mediators recognized that Pridnestrovie fulfilled all obligations and called on Chisinau to follow this example.
