Tiraspol, December 10. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tiraspol City Palace of Culture honored the best Pridnestrovian football players of 2019. Each year this ceremony takes place on World Football Day. The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated sportsmen.
This year, the Master of Sports of International Class, the winner of the Ballon d'Or, Igor Belanov attended the event. Welcoming the legendary football player, Vladimir Krasnoselskiy told that he had grown up on football and supported Kiev Dynamo, in which Igor Belanov played.
“Today Igor brought the Ballon d'Or in Tiraspol, to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It is in Pridnestrovie for the first time. Someday, this football energy will generate such a Pridnestrovian player who will bring the Ballon d'Or to Pridnestrovie. It would be great!” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
For this purpose, according to him, stadium and other elements of sports infrastructure are being built in Pridnestrovie now.
“We pay attention to sports, healthy lifestyle. It's not only football, it's different kinds of sport,” the President noted.
Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the legendary Leather Ball movement had been revived in Pridnestrovie. Practically, all schools of the republic participated in this tournament, and the women's championship was held. A full championship of both women's and men's league will be held next year.
Speaking about the career of football players the President stressed that it did not last so long. According to him, it is not enough to admire sports veterans in the prime of their career but also to support and remember about them after this.
“Our football federation should remember and support veterans. Involve them in football tournaments, holidays, events. To make them understand that they are not forgotten,” Vadim Krasnoselsky told.
