Two rowers from the PMR among the ten strongest young kayakers of Russia

Andrei Laskorunsky and Danil Vetrov showed good results at the first stage of the selection to the junior national team of the Russian Federation

Tiraspol, November 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In Krasnodar there passed competitions in the sprint on kayaks and canoes among juniors – athletes until 19 years. Teams from 29 regions of the Russian Federation participated in it. There were only single races in the program.

Two Pridnestrovians entered the ТОP-10 of the strongest young kayakers of Russia, the Radio 1 reports.

16-year-old Andrei Laskorunsky became the bronze prize-winner in 5 km distance.

17-year-old Danil Vetrov was fourth in 2 km distance. This race was the most numerous competitions. There were 130 athletes. Among them, there were three masters of sports, including Danil Vetrov.

In addition, Danil Vetrov became a finalist in the Olympic 200 m distance: he was the sixth.

Pridnestrovian athletes study in the Moscow School of the Olympic Reserve. Laskorunsky began his sports career in Tiraspol, Vetrov – in Dnestrovsc.

Competitions in Krasnodar are the first stage of the selection to the Junior Russian National Team. The best athletes will get to the preparation for the superiority of Europe and the World team.

This weekend Krasnodar hosts the Cup of Russia. This is the last start of the year for Russian rowers. Alyona Verbina from Tiraspol will participate in the tournament. She performs the Moscow team.
