European experts acknowledged the existence of discriminatory measures against Pridnestrovie

Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik told about the banking problem, the issue of telecommunications and trade restrictions following the results of the Bavaria Conference

Tiraspol, November 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On November 4-5, during discussions at the Bavarian unofficial CBM conference between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, European experts pointed to discriminatory measures against Pridnestrovie. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development, Sergei Obolonik.

“According to the results of the  banking problem discussion the experts came to an intermediate decision on the creation of a closer communication system, as well as the need to exclude restrictions and discriminatory measures, which were reflected in the resolution of the National Bank of Moldova,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

He also noted that on telecommunications the Moldovan side adopted an unexpectedly negative position.

“Previously reached agreements are not taken into account, the audit of signed agreements is carried out. Nevertheless, there is a decision on the agenda that Moldova set a specific date for the implementation of measures from the Roadmap and protocol solution,” Obolonik noted.

Deputy Prime Minister told that during the conference the humanitarian problems that arose as a result of restrictive measures by Moldova on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border had been identified.

“There is a whole complex of problems connected with these restrictions, which arose as a result of the organization of double control on the Ukrainian side, in which Moldovan customs officials participate. This is also the problem of supplying products, a large amount of imported nomenclature, including goods licensed in Moldova, as well as the supply of medicines and individual entrepreneurs, which do not have the right to carry out foreign trade activities in Moldova,” the head of the Ministry of Economic Development noted.

According to him, Moldova also denies the license to Pridnestrovian economic agents for unjustified reasons.

“It was indicated that if the usual mechanisms do not work, it is not necessary to exacerbate any additional administrative measures in the processes of import of products through Kuchurhan. Pridnestrovie insisted that restrictive measures should not be implemented from February 1,” Obolonik said.

The negative point of the Bavaria Conference was the refusal of the Moldovan side to sign a protocol decision to remove technical barriers to trade, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.

This decision at the level of expert groups was also initialed from the Moldovan side. However, the Moldovan political representative refused to sign this protocol decision directly within the framework of the Bavaria meetings. Such a destructive event complicates the negotiation process and does not allow implementing reached agreements, Obolonik explained.
