New series of stamps Tourism in Pridnestrovie is released

A special ceremony took place in the Bendery Fortress

Bendery, November 3./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, a presentation of a new series of postage stamps Tourism in Pridnestrovie took place in the exhibition hall of the Bendery Fortress.

The first five stamps in this series and a postal block show some of the most famous Pridnestrovian attractions as Bendery Fortress, Wind Tower in Stroenţi, Noul Neamț Monastery in Chiţcan, Powder Cellar in the Tiraspol Fortress, Obelisk of Combat Glory.

According to Sergey Berezovsky, Director of Pridnestrovian Mark Publishing House, the circulation of each brand – 4,200 pieces, and the postal block – 700 pieces.

«Our new brands are interesting not only for Pridnestrovians. Philatelists from Chisinau, Odessa, Russia and Western Europe often comes for them. Therefore, for the new series we chose the most visited and known not only to Pridnestrovians but also to tourists’ places, Sergey Berezovsky said.

He recalled that stamps were issued not only as signs of postal payment but also as philatelic material for collectors. They could be purchased in main post office and in the store of the Bendery Fortress.

In plans of the Publishing House, there are stamps for the 200th anniversary of Antarctica discovery, the replenishment of the space series with stamps dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Belka and Strelka dogs’ flight into cosmos.
