Alexander Martynov told compatriots about changes in Pridnestrovie

At the meeting in Moscow, they talked about changes in housing and communal services, medicine and education, investments, new jobs and affordable housing

Moscow, September, 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At the meeting with compatriots in Moscow, PMR Government Chairman Alexander Martynov spoke about changes in the economy, social support new projects and infrastructure development. The presentation that was prepared on this occasion was called “Pridnestrovie. A Transformation time and the State for Life.”

“All the transformations that we are carrying out are aimed at making life on our land more comfortable in all respects,” the Prime Minister told compatriots.

A few words about  Economics

The story about changes in Pridnestrovie traditionally began with the economy. As the head of the Government recalled, from 2012 to 2016 all the main indicators were in the red zone, i.e., they were characterized negatively. This was a drop in production volumes, and a decrease in investment inflows, retail trade, exports and imports - all indicators that affect the quality of life.

“As a result of actions taken by all authorities in the last 2.5 years, the situation was corrected. Those indicators, which were in negative values, went into growth, which, by the way, continues. These are not just dull figures, they are followed by additional budget revenues, jobs and financing of social expenses,” Alexander Martynov said.

So, during this time more than 10 thousand jobs were created - for various qualifications specialists and activity fields. This was achieved by changing approaches to managing state-owned enterprises, especially problematic ones. The State Management Company took up their assets, and as a result, a way out of the crisis.

“Previously, in simple terms, they were used as feeders for officials, money was withdrawn from them ... And now the results are visible: for all these enterprises we see an increase in basic economic indicators, more than a thousand jobs were created, they increased incomes, while wages there increased by almost 20%,” the Prime Minister said.

Another 2 thousand new jobs will appear in the very near future due to the creation of new industries. Thanks to new legislation, investors began to come to the republic. Three large new projects are going to start working, another 10 are being developed.

Health and Education

The President and Prime Minister told fellow countrymen that they had begun to engage in the social infrastructure reconstruction in the republic very actively. These are schools, kindergartens, hospitals, clinics, sports and cultural institutions. About 200 million rubles are spent on their repair per year.

“You remember the state in which all these objects were before. The situation was disastrous. In 2018, we decided to reverse it, and only this year 171 objects of education, health care, social protection, culture and sports were repaired and reconstructed. Over the past two years, we have managed to renovate more than 60% of schools. At present, 142 facilities have been included in the program, while more attention has been paid to medical facilities,” Alexander Martynov explained.

The plans for medicine are one of the most ambitious: to repair all hospitals, clinics, medical facilities and emergency medical centers, completely change the ambulance fleet within a few years.

New objects are also being opened: a new building for a correctional school for children with disabilities in Tiraspol, a center for sports rehabilitation of disabled people in Bendery. On September 1, the Olympic Reserve School was solemnly opened; the Suvorov School has been operating for several years.

Public-Service Sphere

In the past few years, a lot has been said about the housing sector in Pridnestrovie. For the first time since last year, utilities began to receive funds from the budget at the expense of the benefits provided to the population. Previously, these benefits were financed by the enterprises themselves, because of which money for infrastructure repairs was sorely lacking, and it was rapidly declining.

“If this year we allocated 86 million rubles from the budget to compensate for inter-tariff differences, then next year we plan to allocate 150 million rubles. This will help reduce gusts both in heating networks and in water pipelines so that all consumers are provided with high-quality public utilities at constant stable tariffs. And they are relatively low. Also very much attention is paid to the village. There are a lot of overhead lines, cables have been replaced, water supply line is being laid, and water appears where it had never been before,” the head of government said.

The approach to road repair is also changing. It is carried out in a larger volume and with new technologies. The plans include updating the public transport fleet, in particular, in the capital, replacing old trolleybuses with modern buses.

Affordable Housing

In this regard, the leaders of the state explained to compatriots that work was going on in two directions at once. This is the completion of long-term construction and the creation of housing cooperatives. Concessional loans are provided to state employees to participate in shared construction. Nearly 250 apartments are planned to be commissioned this year in Tiraspol and Bendery, and a number of families will be able to purchase their own housing under this program next year.

“The second direction is the creation of the Youth Support Fund. We plan that it will work from the next year. The state will help young families (doctors, teachers, military personnel and other categories of budget employees) to purchase housing. We are talking about subsidies: depending on the availability and number of children, the state will donate from 10 to 14 thousand dollars for the purchase of housing. Thus, we plan to provide housing for about 200 more families,” Alexander Martynov announced.

Also, as part of the presentation at the meeting, they talked about updating sports equipment in schools, free textbooks and exercise books, supporting pensioners and socially vulnerable layers, and launching a public services portal.

They highlighted the improvement of cities and villages. The compatriots were shown photographs of new playgrounds, fountains, the center of Tiraspol and Slobodzeya, the Bendery fortress and other objects.
