Tiraspol, September, 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Competitions were held in Chisinau on the Valya Morilor Lake. The cup brought together 9 teams. Tiraspol, Chisinau and Balti put up 2 teams each. Athletes from Orhei and Rybnitsa also arrived. Tiraspol residents have successfully competed in kayaking.
This time, it was harder to get the team trophy, the Chisinau team was only 2 points behind. The victory in the relay helped. It was mixed: men and women kayak, as well as a man’s canoe. There were 6 participants in each relay team. The length of the stage is 200 m. Tiraspol rowers perfectly passed their rounds and finished first. The relay team included Zoya Manaeva, Alyona Verbina, Andrey Bobko, Andrey Dragan and canoeists Nikita Klikich and Gennady Matvienko.
Bobko - Dragan crew won another 200 and 500 m in double kayak races. Evgeny Cheban was the best in the 500-meter, and Elena Ivanyuk - at a distance of 2 km. Canoeist Daniil Korkodel also brought points to the team. Zoya Manaeva - the leader of women's rowing in Moldova, has repeatedly won the medal in regattas in Russia.
“Tiraspol rowing and shooting school brought 2 teams. We counted on the fact that the second team would be able to take points from our competitors. And that`s what happened. Without it, we would not have won. The second team consisted of young athletes, including those who recently excelled at the regatta in Belarus,” Anna Bespalova, coach of the Tiraspol School of Rowing and Shooting, told our correspondent.
The next start is also in Chisinau. The international regatta "Golden Canoe of Zhuravski - Reneiski" will be held this weekend. On October 5-6, Tiraspol will host the traditional Golden Autumn competition. Teams from Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova are invited. And on October 12, the Chisinau Championship will end the rowing season.
