Tiraspol, August 29. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The question of maintaining historical memory was the focus of attention at today press conference of the Head of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. In particular, the President reminded that next year in the republic there would be several anniversaries: 30 anniversary of PMR formation and 75 anniversary of the Great Victory.
«We gathered several times, conferred on organizational issues. Everyone knows the task, and everyone will carry out it – from the publication of thematic materials to the restoration of monuments», - Vadim Krasnoselsky told.
The Head of the State addressed the Moldavian leaders with the offer to transfer to Pridnestrovie the monument of the Great Patriotic War which is in a deplorable state as it is regularly attacked by vandals.
«It is about the IS-3 tank on Ungheni district memorial. It is in an extremely unattractive state. Besides, on the available information, it has no historical value to Moldova. Therefore I want to address the Moldavian leaders: if you cannot protect the historical memory of the Soviet soldier, give the tank to Pridnestrovie. We will put it in order, and it will serve as the evidence of the victory of the Soviet weapon in the Great Patriotic War», - Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed.
