The PMR President said that the expansion project at the Bendery border checkpoint to improve throughput would not be implemented so far due to the position of the Moldovan side. As already noted, on the initiative of Vadim Krasnoselski in connection with the increase in tourist flow in Pridnestrovie, it was planned to build a separate road space for tourists at the Bendery CCI. In response, Moldova threatened to block car traffic on this section of the Moldovian-Pridnestrovian border.
During the press conference, the PMR President drew attention to the inconsistency of Moldovan officials.
“I will ask Igor Nikolaevich (Dodon) about their strange position,” Vadim Krasnoselski said.
He noted that, by agreement with Ukraine, Moldova has established its customs and border post on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border, while reacting negatively to the desire of the PMR to facilitate movement across the border.
“The idea was to increase throughput and organize a tourist road space,” Vadim Krasnoselski said and noted that he counted on a positive reaction from the Moldovan side.
The President emphasized that the PMR was an independent state, and its borders were an attribute of statehood and an important aspect of security. At the same time, Vadim Krasnoselski said that there were no problems with freedom of movement at the border.
According to him, regardless of the Republic of Moldova behavior, Pridnestrovie is becoming increasingly attractive for tourists, as evidenced by the increase in tourist flow.
