VLADISLAV CHEBOTAR BECAME EUROPEAN CHAMPION IN CANOEING

Tiraspol, July, 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The European rowing and canoeing championships among young men under 19 and juniors under 23 years old take place in Recice (Czech Republic). Almost 700 athletes from 35 countries participate in the competition.

Two trainees of the Tiraspol school of rowing and shooting play in the Russian team: Danil Vetrov (group up to 19 years old, coach Vyacheslav Sokolenko) and Vladislav Chebotar (up to 23 years old, Coach Vladimir Bespalov).

Vladislav Chebotar won gold in a canoe-pair at a distance of 1000 m. Ivan Likhovidov was his partner. The Russian crew overtook the Romanian rowers for one second, and Polish athletes – for almost 2 seconds.

Danil Vetrov, competing in rowing in a canoe at a distance of 1000 meters, took the 4th place. The winners were the representatives of Denmark, Great Britain and the Czech Republic. The rest of the finals finished with a significant lag.

Today, Danil Vetrov will compete for medals at a distance of 500 m in the top four. The Russian crew made their way to the final.

Note that the 22-year-old Vladislav Chebotar has many awards in his collection, including the adult world championship. He is a two-time medalist of the world championship in fours and a two-time European champion in pairs. In addition, he is the winner of the youth world and European championships in singles.
