Tiraspol, July 6. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The XXX World Universiade takes place in Italian Naples. Teams from more than 150 countries participate in it.
As a part of the national team of Moldova 22 athletes participate. Among them, there are two pupils of the Tiraspol Sports School of Swimming: the student of Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University Tatyana Salkutsan and the student of the Tiraspol Informatics Technical School Anastasia Moshchenskaya.
At the 200 m, backstroke distance Tatyana Salkutsan showed the result close to a personal record. After a mark of 150 meters, the sportswoman was the last, but she managed to bypass four competitors and to take the IV place. The world champion American Lisa Bretton finishing with a new record of the Universiade became the winner. The II place too goes to American, III – is for the representative of Great Britain. Sportswomen from Canada, Germany and Japan have also reached the final.
On the 100 meters distance, Tatyana Salkutsan took the 23rd place.
Anastasia Moshchenskaya, acting at the 100 m breaststroke distance, stopped at a stage of the preliminary swim. Tomorrow she will take part in a 200 m distance swim.
For all the time of participation of the Pridnestrovian athletes in Universiades as a part of the national team of Moldova, the pupil of the Tiraspol Sports School No. 2 Natalya Cherkes achieved the greatest success. In 2003 in Korea she became a winner in a run at the 10 km distance. Also Vladimir Letnikov from Tiraspol (track and field athletics, a triple jump, 2009), Alexander Ryshkan (boxing, 2013) and Maxim Mamulat from Grigoriopol (fight on belts, 2013). Among the participants of Universiades, there were also tennis players from Dubossary and also the oarsmen supporting the national team of the Russian Federation.
