Social and cultural event “Peace for the Future” took place in Bendery. The Pridnestrovian leadership invited the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of the European states to participate in it. Ambassadors (or their deputies) of a dozen states, including Russia, Poland, Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Slovakia and others arrived in Bendery. The delegation was headed by Peter Michalko. The purpose of the international meeting is to unite representatives of different nations around universal values and ideas aimed at preserving peace and friendship of nations for the sake of prosperous future. Guests gathered at the site of the Alexander Nevsky Park. Here they talked about the hospitality of the Pridnestrovian people, that on this land, which has become native to representatives of 72 nationalities, linguistic diversity is welcomed, folk traditions are preserved, culture is developed. It is no coincidence that Bendery Fortress was chosen as the meeting venue. Pages of its chronicle are written in different languages. Once the fortress was impregnable, today its gates are open to all who came in peace.
The concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic under the leadership of the People's Artist of the PMR Grigory Moseyko opened the event, which started in one of the halls of the new tourist complex. The program includes works by authors representing the world of musical art from different countries.
Another creative component of the social and cultural event “Peace for the Future” is a performance by the Pridnestrovian State Choir (artistic director Tatyana Tverdokhlebova). The vocalists performed the program under the arches of the church of Alexander Nevsky. Then the hosts of the meeting held representatives of diplomatic missions in the Citadel of Bendery Fortress, telling the story of this unique object from a historical point of view. The final point of the event was setting out of the Alley of Peace.
