Tiraspol, May 29. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The 30th international semi-marathon «Odessa New Mail» brought together about 4 thousand runners from Ukraine and Moldova. In the program, there were three distances and relay. The route of race laid through the central historical part of the city, Radio 1 reports.
Pupils of Tiraspol Sports School No. 2 Nikolay Gorbushko and Olesya Smovzhenko became prize-winners at 21 km distance. Gorbushko has the 1st place, Smovzhenko – the second among women and the 7th in the overall ranking. She showed quite a good result – 1 hour 16 minutes and 10 seconds. It is higher than Master of Sports standard.
The participant of the Olympic Games, the prize-winner of Europe Olga Skripak from Kiev became the winner among women. The Pridnestrovians have two more medals: Pyotr Kiriyak has a bronze at 10 km distance, Dmitry Zaykov – at 5 km distance.
The following stage of a semi-marathon will pass on August 1 in Poltava. In total this year there are 9 stages. It should be noted that Olesya Smovzhenko plans to participate in the autumn marathon. She will try to execute the selection standard for the Olympic Games. Her command fellow Lilia Fiskovich has already earned the Olympic permit. Now the sportswomen train together and have one coach.
