Tiraspol, May, 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The first tourist forum will be held in Pridnestrovie. The date has already been determined - September 14-15. Its participants will not be tourists, but those who work in this area: agencies, operators, associations, guides, etc. The task is to acquaint them with the potential of our republic.
“We want to show tourists that we not only have an exotic of our country`s non-recognition, but also very rich material for different types of tourism. This includes ecotourism, agriculture, and historical, as well as cultural, industrial and congress one (participation in scientific or business congresses, symposia),” Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik said.
Casa Mare and all kinds of ethnomuseums, agricultural firms that are ready to join agricultural tourism, industrial enterprises, where there are special excursions to the productions, not to mention historical and cultural objects ... The guests of the forum will be shown how Pridnestrovie differs from other countries and how can tour operator work here.
The forum will begin in the citadel of Bendery fortress. There the participants will meet each other. There will also be held presentation of objects and the general program. Guests will be able to understand what Pridnestrovie is by going directly across prepared routes.
“We are preparing special tours to certain points representing a certain tourism industry. All participants will be presented these tours. Thus they will be able to get acquainted with these objects,” the head of department said.
There is an interest in Pridnestrovie from tourists, both Russian and European. The location at the crossroads of civilizations, non-recognition and a number of other factors create a good potential for the development of the industry. Last year, our republic was officially visited by about 7 thousand people, having declared its goal as tourism. As a rule, these are those who come purposefully from far abroad. Meanwhile, this figure can be many times more, if you attract those who come in neighboring Moldova to get away. 1 million tourists pass through Chisinau airport annually.
“We hope that in the near future (let`s say 5 years) we will be able to attract at least 10% of this number (about 100 thousand people). This will allow us to stimulate the creation of a hotel system and even predict certain incomes ... Even if we take a formal assessment: if each of these 100,000 tourists spends at least 100 dollars on our land, then 15 of them will go to the budget, and this is potential for the development of the country," Sergey Obolonik says.
In order for tourists to enjoy getting acquainted with Pridnestrovie, they are going to seriously develop the infrastructure in the republic. And these are not only hotels, hostels, etc. So-called tourist passport will be developed for each city and district.
“This is a kind of map, which, depending on the goals of the tourist, will allow him to go where he wants. There will be marked hotels, routes, interesting objects and everything you need. We will also have interactive terminals that will allow tourist to determine where and why he needs to go,” the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
Recall, now the Supreme Council is considering a program for the tourism development. This is a large-scale project, the implementation of which, as the developers hope, will allow the State to seriously increase the income from tourism.
