PRIDNESTROVIAN FLUTISTS WON TWO INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

They brought five highest awards from Romania

Tiraspol, May 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Young musicians and students of the Pridnestrovian State Art Institute became winners of two international competitions in Romania. These are eight flutists pupils of the people's artist of the PMR, the conductor of the State Symphonic Orchestra Grigory Moseyko.

Romania knows the Pridnestrovian flutists well. This time musicians perfectly played rare works of modern Romanian compositors.

From the XI competition «Aulidia» passing on May 11-13 in Brasov, the pridnestrovians brought three highest awards and one second place.

So, the eight-year-old winner Maria Chekhovskaya says she plays flute for four years, one of them – in Grigory Moseyko's class.

«I visited the competition for the first time, so I did not expect the first trip to become so successful», - the girl admits.

The fourth-year student of the Art Institute Irina Karakas not only became the owner of the first award, but also the participant of the gala concert.

«We are well known at this competition. Every time judges wait for something unusual from the pridnestrovian participants. This year we performed classical works, modern Romanian music and the German compositions», - she says.

Some more pupils of Grigory Moseyko performed at the VIII International competition «Yogann Goya» in Iași. In the city which is famous for the opera theatre and conservatory, the action took place from May 11 to May 13. The Pridnestrovians also took two first prices and two seconds.

According to the first-year student of the Art Institute Artem Atorin, it was a hard competition. The girl from Bucharest played really bright and expressional. Representatives of Bulgaria and Moldova also fought for the leadership.

«I have been learning at Grigory Alekseyevich music class for more than eleven years. It is my first trip to such a large-scale project. I am proud of the result. I took third place at the competition», - the musician admits.

The teacher was satisfied with the progress of his pupils. Grigory Moseyko admitted that participation in competitions is important both for beginners and for more professional musicians.

«Nothing stands still. Any experience is useful, and in music, it is simply necessary», - the musician says, noting that it has already been the fifth victorious trip of instrumentalists to Romania.
