Tiraspol, April, 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the Bulgarian capital Sofia there was held an international ranking tournament on taekwondo WTF. 45 countries were represented there, more than 1,200 athletes claimed on victory, including trainees from the WTF Pridnestrovie Taekwondo Union.
In competitions for adult athletes Pridnestrovians competed in two weight categories: Danil Lupolov in weight 74 kg, Alexander Semenov - up to 63 kg. Both won their competitors in the first round of the tournament, but both then lost in the second round. As a result, our taekwondo fighters took ninth places, according to the State Sports Service website.
The champion of Moldova among juniors Irina Sivachenko performed in the junior age group having won once. In the second duel she was defeated.
Igor Kantsur (33 kg) and Ilya Rotar (61 kg) competed among the cadets. The latter reached the stage of the semi-finals and won the bronze medal.
For this competition Pridnestrovian athletes were trained by the coach Yuri Lesovoy.
