THE OSCE EXPERT PREPARES RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF MEDICINES IMPORT TO THE PMR

Michael Morris discussed with the Pridnestrovian colleagues a solution to the question

Tiraspol, April 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The expert in the field of registration and import of medicines Michael Morris arrived in Tiraspol for studying a problem of import of medicines to Pridnestrovie. At the OSCE Mission Office in Tiraspol, he communicated to the representatives of profile departments of the PMR. The expert intends to prepare recommendations about the settlement of the contradictions which arose between Moldova and Pridnestrovie, the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of the PMR reports.

Today the expert of the OSCE was informed on existing rules of registration, control and admission of medicines for the Pridnestrovian market. Interlocutors analysed the contradictions discussed at the level of expert groups between Chisinau and Tiraspol. The Pridnestrovian side supported the preservation of historically developed order of import of medical freights. This order, according to Pridnestrovie, has to be reflected in the corresponding arrangement that will allow supplying the population of the PMR with necessary medicines smoothly.

The perspective of import of medicines to Pridnestrovie became one of the negative consequences of the establishment at the checkpoint of Kuchurgan on the Pridnestrovie-Ukrainian border of joint customs border control of Moldova and Ukraine in July 2017. The Pridnestrovian side repeatedly emphasized the politized nature of the project of the joint control menacing to the foreign economic activity of Pridnestrovie, freedom of travel and safety.

Pridnestrovie confirmed readiness for further interaction with Michael Morris for development of the balanced and realized recommendations.
