Tiraspol, April, 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Wrestlers from Tiraspol won gold medals at the Moldavian Sambo Championship, which was held in Chisinau on March 29-30. The victory was got by Nikolay Cheban in the weight category over 100 kilograms and by Elisei Vasilaki in weight up to 62 kg. Now the athletes will be preparing for the international level starts as the members of the Moldavian national team.
Valery Muravsky (68 kg) was very close to the champion title. His competitor was stronger only in the final game, and Valery became the silver medalist. Bronze was won by Maxim Graur (62 kg), Mikhail Cheban (82 kg) and Dmitry Dintyu (over 100 kg).
An unexpected result was shown by Sabina Artemchuk from Bendery, who won the bronze medal at the World Championships last year. This time the mistake in the final game fight cost her victory. Sabina took second place.
Bronze medalists were trainees of the Bendery wrestling school - Anastasia Berezyuk and Anastasia Molodykh.
In total, 16 athletes from Pridnestrovie took part in the competition. Most of them are trainees of the Tiraspol sports school of wrestling and boxing and the Bendery sports school named after G.N. Badanova.
On the first weekend of April, the Moldavian Championship in three types of wrestling - freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's - will be held for athletes aged 20 and under.
