RUSSIAN POLITICAL SCIENTIST SERGEY MIKHEEV IS IN CONTACT WITH PRIDNESTROVIAN STUDENTS AGAIN

The expert and representatives of the State University talked about the situation with the neighbors and the way it affects Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, March, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova between West and East. It is the topic of the lecture of famous Russian political scientist Sergey Mikheev. The online conference was held for SPSU students. They talked about the situation with our neighbors and how this affects Pridnestrovie.

Speaking about why Moldova today is reaching for the West, the Russian political scientist noted a tested in Chisinau special model had been, which was introduced in the post-Soviet space. Firstly, the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was recognized as insignificant. By this decision Moldova actually declared illegal the formation of the MSSR. Then adopted a declaration of sovereignty. Thus, Pridnestrovie was excluded from Moldova. After began to move in the direction of Romania, the European Union and NATO.

“In my opinion, it was in Moldova that they tried to beat this scheme as radically as possible at a very early stage, which led to the well-known events around Pridnestrovie and the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. That is, here, if we talk about the success of those people, it was partial. On the one hand, the polarization of what was the MSSR, the formation of Pridnestrovie as an unrecognized state and the eternal internal political conflict in Moldova, which is still ongoing. From one crisis phase to another, said Sergey Mikheev.”

According to Mikheev, the future of Moldova’s relations with Russia depends largely on the state of affairs in Ukraine. There will be presidential elections this Sunday. Possible scenarios were also discussed during the online conference. This format for our students is not new. This is the second meeting with a Russian political scientist.

“This is a very good start, and I think that this project will be continued with other representatives of the political elite, and in general the political science community of Russia and other states. I think that this project will be expanded, said Alexander Berezovsky, head of the department for public relations of the Administration of the President of the PMR.”

Lectures are held in the framework of the joint project of the Dniester-Prut information and analytical center and centre.
