Tiraspol, March, 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Government has drafted the Tourism Support and Development Program 2019-2026. Today the document was presented to suppliers of the tourist services. The Program is developed for 7 years and designed to solve two main objectives – to improve the quality of a tourist's product and to increase tourist appeal to Pridnestrovie in the domestic and international market.
Industry members at a meeting with the management of the supreme executive body admitted that they have waited for the similar program for a very long period of time and attention of the state in general to tourism is a very positive signal.
As the Deputy Prime Minister – the Minister of Economic Development Sergey Obolonik noted, Pridnestrovie has a lot of things to be proud of, but the main problem is that very few people know about it. Therefore the Tourism Development Program is «that skeleton on which our tourism industry could be established and develop». There are such basic elements as the advance of the republic in foreign information space, creation and development of infrastructure, improvement of quality of the provided tourist's services in the territory of the republic.
«The need of creation of the tourist field, clear and available to orientation, is obvious. Any tourist should understand, where the PMR is, how to move there, where to stay and so on. For this purpose the concept is necessary. But also there should be investments from the state on the creation of primary infrastructure. There should be more well-planned places having tourist appeal, some reference points for English-speaking and Russian-speaking and so on», - Sergey Obolonik explained.
That is the purpose – to create conditions under which the tourist will visit our republic, without passing transit, and want to remain for several days and to enjoy history, culture, traditions and the nature of our land wholly . So far statistics indicate the opposite more and more.
At the first stage of implementation of the program, attention will be paid to infrastructure – this year installation of the indexes conducting to the main attractions is planned; development of new plates with names of streets, including in a foreign language; development of souvenir products. Also, the regulatory framework will be improved, the catalogue of suppliers of tourist's services is created. Special attention will be paid also to the quality of training per for the industry.
This work will be continued in 2021-2023, and implementation of the innovative solutions and distribution of the updated tourist infrastructure in areas of the republic is planned for 2024-2026.
According to the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Natalya Sitkina, it is expected that at the implementation of the program the number of guests of the republic will grow to 100 thousand people annually, and tax contributions to the budget will make not less than 2.8 million dollars.
«Work on improvement of rural, ethnographic, ecological, event, sports and business tourism is provided in the program. Also work in the field of wine, medical tourism for children and young people will be carried out. Here it is necessary to tell that on each of types of tourism the program is provided», - Natalya Sitkina told.
After the presentation tour operators and social activists could ask the questions and state wishes. In the nearest future on the platform of the Ministry of Economic Development work on concrete points of the Program will begin.
