Tiraspol, March, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last week in Chisinau, there was held a children's Moldova Championship in Russian 64-cell draughts. A large group of students of Pridnestrovian sports schools from Tiraspol, Bendery and Slobodzeya took part in it.
The competitions were held in two age groups (U-8 and U-10) in three kinds of contests: swift draughts (blitz), fast draughts (rapid), and also classic draughts.
As reported on the official website of the State Service for Sports of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, in the younger age group, athlete from Slobodzeya Anastasia Merlyan was the winner in blitz. In seven games, she scored 11 points and eventually got ahead of two athletes from Tiraspol. Yana Kizil with ten points took the second place, Zinaida Polyanskaya took the third one, she scored 9 points.
Among elders, Maria Mindru from Slobodzeya was the strongest in swift draughts. We note that the winner scored the same number of points as her teammate Elizaveta Trofimova - 13 points each. As a result, only additional indicators decided the fate of gold and silver medals for the Slobodzeya students.
Competitions in fast draughts among younger girls were also successful for Anastasia Merlyan. Here her result was even higher - 13 points in seven games. Yana Kizil won the bronze medal in rapid. The final sixth line was taken by Lada Karletova, and Zinaida Polyanskaya took the tenth one.
In the older group, Elizaveta Trofimova was the best in the rapid tournament. She brought another gold medal to the Slobodzeya team, being 4 points ahead of the closest competitor.
The classic draughts tournament brought Anastasia Merlyan the title of the absolute champion of Moldova 2019 in Russian draughts in the U-8 group. For the third time, she was stronger than all her competitors and thus won all three types of competitive programs.
Two more win medals were won by Pridnestrovian athletes. The silver medal was won by Yana Kizil, and the bronze one - by Lada Karletova. Zinaida Polyanskaya finished the competition in the fifth place.
Among the older girls, two more medals were won by athletes from Slobodzeya — Elizaveta Trofimova became the champion in the classic game, and Maria Mindru was in the second final place.
The winning traditions of the Slobodzeya team were also sustained in youth competitions. In the age group U-8, the blitz tournament was won by Mikhail Kunitsky. Ivan Serafimovich from Tiraspol turned out to be on the second line only by additional indicators: both athletes had 12 points each.
On the fourth place was Alexander Rodionov (Slobodzeya), on the fifth one - Timofey Krylov (Bendery), on the sixth one - Nikita Kokhanovsky (Tiraspol), on the seventh - Victor Bivol (Bendery), on the tenth place - Yegor Grosul (Tiraspol). Thus, seven 8-year-old Pridnestrovians entered the top ten of the Moldavian Championship.
In the U-10 age category, two trainees from Bendery were clearly the strongest in the blitz competition: Dmitry Gorsky won the gold medal with one hundred percent mark of 14 points, and Bogdan Voloshin took the second place. Vsevolod Popov from Bendery lost the third place only by additional indicators, remaining on the fourth final position.
The fast draughts competition in the younger age group resulted in another victory for the Pridnestrovian athlete - Alexander Rodionov. The bronze medal was won by his fellow countryman Mikhail Kunitsky.
In the older age group on fast draughts, the gold medal slipped right through the fingers of Pridnestrovian athletes only once: Sergei Kemengi from Ceadir-Lungi scored 12 points, one point ahead of the three athletes from Bendery. Additional indicators distributed places as follows: the second - Bogdan Voloshin, the third - Dmitry Gorsky, the fourth - Nikolay Stoyanov.
Finally, Mikhail Kunitsky took priority in the classic draughts at a younger age, and Alexander Rodionov won the silver medal. The absolute superiority of Pridnestrovian athletes was confirmed by Ivan Serafimovich and his third place.
There was a serious competition for medals in the older age group. But Dmitry Gorsky overcame the tournament distance most steadily. Bogdan Voloshin and Nikolay Stoyanov scored 10 points in seven games, but the first one was brought to the bronze medal by the additional indicators.
