Tiraspol, March, 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The European Cup (athletics) took place on March 9-10 in the Slovak city of Samorin. More than 300 athletes from 38 countries participated in it.
The pupil of the Tiraspol sports school No. 2 Denis Pikus acted in javelin throw competitions among youth up to 23 years. He set a personal record – 76 m 76 cm and took the IV place. The athlete exceeded the former achievement more than three meters. The athlete's mentor is the Honored trainer of the PMR Alexander Moiseenko.
Alexey Kotkovets from Belarus with the best result of a season in the world – 82 m 45 cm became the winner of the European Cup. He set a youth record of the country. Among prize-winners, there are athletes from Poland and Romania.
In the javelin throwing section, there were 17 athletes. Many showed the best results in a season, four set personal records. 10 athletes sent a shell for 70 m. In youth group, more good results than at men are recorded.
One more pupil of the Tiraspol Athletics School Nikolay Orlov planned to go to Slovakia but did not receive the neutral status. He performes Russia.
