PRIDNESTROVIAN PUPILS OF SUVOROV MILITARY COLLEGE ARE AMONG THE WINNERS OF THE ALL-RUSSIAN DRAWING CONTEST

Tiraspol, March, 7. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The All-Russian Suvorov Drawing Contest was dedicated to the Day of Military Glory - the day of the capture of the Turkish fortress Izmail by Russian troops under the command of A.V. Suvorov during the Russian-Turkish war of 1787-1791.

The press service of the PMR Ministry of Defense reports that A.V. Suvorov Russian State Memorial Museum and St. Petersburg State University were organizers of the drawing contest.

Participating in the contest, pupils of Suvorov military college needed to adhere to the main subject: events of the military history of Russia, people`s feats, life and work of the Fatherland defenders.

The contest was attended by children of several age categories: up to 13 years old, 14-16 and 17-18 years old. In addition to the drawings, it was necessary to write an essay. All works were considered in separate categories. The jury evaluated the work based on the depth, originality and quality of performance.

For the contest, pupils of the Tiraspol Suvorov Military School sent three works, which were awarded. Edward Raikovski, pupil of the 8th "B" grade, and Ivan Chernichenko - the 7th "B" grade, took the third place. The winner was Dmitry Gubarev, pupil of the 10th "A" grade.

The works of the contest winners will be exhibited in one of the cultural institutions of St. Petersburg and will remain in storage at the A.V. Suvorov State Memorial Museum.
