Tiraspol, February, 13. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian athletes participated in the championship of the Balkan countries among juniors up to 20 years. Competitions took place in the capital of Turkey Istanbul.
This year there were qualification standards for participation. Besides, there were 19 member countries. The Ukrainian national team was added, and it is a strong contender.
In a medal count, the Ukrainian athletes took the second place, having passed only the Turkish national team forward. Ukrainians have 7 gold medals, it is one less than hosts of the tournament.
The national team of Moldova has one silver in shot put. In the RM team, there are 5athletes – pupils of the Tiraspol and Bendery sports schools. Children did not win but showed quite good results. Three athletes acted in competitions in a triple jump, they are debutants of the championship of the Balkan countries. For Nikita Savitsky from Tiraspol, it was also the first large international tournament. He took the 7th place with a result of 14 m 34 cm.
Yuliana Dabizha and Anna Karamanutsa from Bendery were one of the youngest participants. They are 15 years old. Yuliana Dabizha acted successfully: she has a 5th place. She set a personal record, having jumped on 12 meters 56 cm. It is higher than the required standard on the European junior Olympic festival. Anna Karamanutsa was the seventh. Earlier she executed the Olympic standard too.
«Both sportswomen in a triple jump show the results corresponding to the required standard on a festival. The Olympic festival will take place at the end of July in Baku. In May in the summer championship of Moldova, it is desirable to confirm that results. Besides, Yuliana Dabizhey is faced by a task to execute standards and in other disciplines. She is a good sprinter», - the trainer Olga Stratiyenko told «Novosti Pridnestrovya».
Jana Garayeva is among the candidates for participation in the festival. She is the strongest among the contemporaries in Pridnestrovie and Moldova. In the championship of the Balkan countries, she took the 8th place at a distance of 60 m.
Denis Cerney from Tiraspol improved his own achievement in a run at a distance of 400 m. His result is 50.45 sec. And 9th place. The Pridnestrovian young men acting on Balkaniada do not pass on age to participate in the Olympic festival. But young Tiraspol sprinters Evgeny Skok and Vitaly Simirenko will try to execute standards.
